Toowoomba Regional Council is looking for a practical, safety-focused leader to join our team as a Waste Services Supervisor. This is your opportunity to move beyond day-to-day operations and lead teams delivering essential services to the community—while contributing to a more sustainable future.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to tick every box on day one—we’ll support you with training where needed.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in waste services, civil, construction or a similar operational environment
- Proven ability to lead or step into a supervisory role
- Strong focus on safety and compliance
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confidence communicating with teams, contractors and stakeholders
Licences & Requirements:
- WHS White Card (CPCWHS1001) or willingness to obtain within 1 month
- Chain of Responsibility training (TLIF0009 & TLIF0080) or willingness to obtain within 3 months
- ‘drumMUSTER’ Inspector competency or willingness to obtain within 3 months
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
Highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Waste Management or similar experience
- Experience overseeing plant and site operations
- Knowledge of environmental or waste legislation
The Waste Service Team
TRC’s Waste Services Branch manages and operates the region’s waste facilities and recycling services. The team includes both indoor and outdoor staff who bring extensive experience across all aspects of waste management. you wll be responsible for supervising and coordinating outdoor staff with the support of others.
