ROLE – Project Engineer – Water & Wastewater


SALARY - $110,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experience


TYPE – Permanent


LOCATION – Adelaide, SA


My client provides specialist engineering solutions across the Water and Wastewater sector, delivering innovative treatment systems and engineered solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects.


They are looking for a Project Engineer with a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to join their growing team in Adelaide. This role would suit an engineer with experience in water treatment, wastewater, process systems, packaged plant equipment, piping systems, or similar industrial engineering environments.


The Project Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 2 years of experience in a Project, Design, or Process Engineering role
• Experience working on Water, Wastewater, Industrial Process, Utilities, or similar engineering projects
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles
• Experience with pumps, piping, valves, tanks, treatment systems, or related mechanical equipment
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings
• Ideally have experience using 3D CAD software
• Experience working with fabricated equipment, sheet metal, or skid-based systems would be beneficial
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
• Experience taking projects from concept through to manufacture and installation
• Able to manage projects, timelines, budgets, and technical documentation
• Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and engineering documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

The Project Engineer role will involve:

• Producing concept designs, detailed engineering drawings, and 3D models
• Managing engineering projects from concept through to production and delivery
• Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners
• Supporting the design and delivery of Water and Wastewater treatment systems and equipment
• Liaising with fabrication and manufacturing providers throughout project delivery
• Preparing technical documentation, reports, and project records
• Updating engineering drawings, models, and design revisions
• Creating and maintaining BOMs within the MRP system
• Supporting assembly, testing, and commissioning activities where required
• Working within a collaborative, growing engineering team on a variety of projects
