Full-Time Permanent
Walcha Council is seeking an experienced Waste Operator to assist with day-to-day operations of our Waste Transfer Facility. As a Waste operator at Walcha Council, you will carry out a variety of tasks associated with the efficient and economical operation of Councils Waste Systems including but not limited to waste organisation, landfill works, serving customers, compressing recycling and excavator operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out labouring duties as directed.
Operate hand tools, small plant, skid steer, excavator and LR vehicles.
Perform Cell operations.
Manual handling of waste.
Process Waste Transfer fees and charges with Walcha ratepayers and members of the public.
Complete standard forms including timesheets, Safety forms, plant records etc.
What You’ll Bring
Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
Physical ability to carry out the role.
Experience in landfill operations or willingness to learn.
Sound computer skills.
Commitment to working safely and follow safe systems of work.
Previous experience in Waste operations or in a similar field.
Class LR Drivers Licence.
Forklift Licence
What We Offer
This is a Permanent Full-Time Position (38 hours per week) starting at $1075.30 (gross) + superannuation per week based on Band 1 Level 3, Grade 2 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023, you will also enjoy an RDO every fortnight.
