About this Position:
The Strategic Projects Officer is responsible for performing support activities to contribute to the management, development and delivery of a range of projects and programs in line with established objectives.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Develop project and/or maintenance activity programs, timelines, and schedules, ensuring activities align with department goals and objectives.
- Ensure projects and resourcing plans are aligned to accountabilities and responsibilities and ensures adherence to procurement policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collect, analyse, and report data on project progress, performance metrics, and outcomes to ensure quality and schedule alignment
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to the delivery of directorate projects and implement risk management strategies to manage potential risks to the organisation.
- Implement quality assurance procedures, conduct inspections, and ensure all work meets project specifications and regulatory requirements.
What you will need to be successful:
- Experience in assisting the coordination of projects, especially in directorate operations, with a focus on planning, scheduling, and overseeing contractor performance.
- Ability to manage procurement processes, ensuring compliance with policies and selecting appropriate suppliers.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, working effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to drive project outcomes.
- Experience in implementing risk management strategies and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Ability to collect, analyse, and report data on project performance and progress to inform decision-making.
- Sound financial awareness, including managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and adhering to grant funding requirements.
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Information Technology, Civil Construction, Frontline Management or related field and/or relevant experience
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
