What You'll Be Doing
The Environmental Services Training and Audit Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive cleaning audits and training programs to support the Environmental Services team at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control in alignment with NSW Health infection control policies and Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) guidelines.
The auditing function will involve auditing for compliance with standards and legislative requirements including cleaning, waste and safety.
The training function will involve delivering initial training and induction to all new Environmental Services employees, undertaking competency assessments, providing ongoing refresher training and supporting mandatory training for Environmental Services staff, and also providing training to other staff within the scope of Environmental Services functions.

A resume (maximum 5 pages) outlining your experience Responses to the questions below: Demonstrated ability through experience and/or knowledge relating to auditing, preferably environmental cleaning auditing within a healthcare environment. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Infection Control guidelines, WH&S including manual handling and ability to respond appropriately to safety and health issues. Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering staff training and assessment programs. Proven ability to work within a team and to work with minimal supervision. Experience developing, reviewing and implementing policies, systems and work practices to improve service delivery. Competent in use of Microsoft Office programs and mobile devices i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoints, Excel.
