We’re looking for a passionate and hands on Water and Wastewater Operator to join our Water and Waste Directorate in the beautiful Isaac Region. This is a permanent, full time opportunity where you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable water services to our communities.

In this role, you’ll report to the Treatment Plant Supervisor and take responsibility for the day to day, hands on operation of our water and wastewater treatment plants. This is your chance to be part of a supportive team that keeps essential services running smoothly for our region.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Hold a Construction Card and be able to meet vaccination and fitness‑for‑work requirements (Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus).
- Ideally hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (water and wastewater desirable).
- Have experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment plants safely and in line with environmental and legislative requirements.
- Be confident operating pumps, valves, gates and key treatment processes such as filtration, aeration and chemical dosing.
- Demonstrate strong monitoring skills, with the ability to interpret flow meters, gauges, power usage and water quality results.
- Carry out sampling, routine analysis, inspections and prepare clear, accurate reports on plant performance.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance, escalating issues when needed to ensure plant reliability.
- Contribute positively to team operations, including supporting, guiding and training Trainee or Assistant Operators.
- Be willing to travel between treatment plants within the region and participate in an on‑call roster.
- Show strong attention to detail, maintaining accurate records, plant cleanliness and full compliance with WHS requirements.
- Salary $75,787.07 per annum, plus allowances
- Flexible Location within the Isaac Region
- Ongoing opportunities for overtime and on call roster
- Nominally 38 hours per week
